'Fargo' Season 3 Spoilers, Cast News: Third Season Set To Premiere In 2017

The second season of "Fargo" has just ended. And it looks like season 3 will not be released sooner than what we have thought.

The production team didn't have enough time to shoot during winter season to complete the third season. And since Fargo is set during the winter season, fans are just going to have to wait. The third season would likely premiere in 2017. According to Christian Today, the third season will take place in a new location and have a new cast.

According to Vulture, creator Noah Hawley said that the main characters from the first season will not return for season 3 as leads. He said that he wants to follow how the original movie ended and create new story lines moving forward. Doing otherwise would be a disservice according to him.

The plot for next season will deal with modern topics so people could relate to the story even more. The third season will be set sometime around 2010, four years after the plot in the first season.

"That's not to say one of our stories might not intersect with characters we've seen before for a certain period of time," Hawley said.

"It's a more contemporary story, and I think that's exciting. Our first year was set in 2006, but we didn't really deal with what it was like to be in that region in a more contemporary world. I like the idea that we're now living in a very selfie-oriented culture where people photograph what they're eating and put it up for other people to see," Hawley explained.
