Emery Releases 'Rock, Pebble, Stone' on Break It Down Podcast; New Song Opens Up 'You Were Never Alone'

Emery

Christian rock band Emery released "Rock, Pebble, Stone," which is the first track of their upcoming album You Were Never Alone on their new weekly podcast "Break It Down."

The song can be heard exclusively on AbsolutePunk.net or heard on iTunes if subscribed to the "Break It Down" podcast.

During the podcast Emery guitarist Matt Carter said the song was a bit unusual to lead off the album because it is on the lighter side. Usually, the band comes in roaring on the opening tracks as fans may look back to songs such as "Walls" and "Cheval Glass."

"Feels like a wussy song for 200 pound mid-30's dads to be writing such emo stuff and less the first track of the album, but hey, that's what we do!" said Carter in the podcast.

For fans who want to know more about the creation of the song and the thoughts behind the band members creating the tracks, the podcast goes on for about 43 minutes.

The podcast is separate from their already popular Bad Christian Podcast, and will be run by band members Carter and vocalist Toby Morrell. Emery's upcoming album You Were Never Alone, will be debuted in its entirety over the period of 12 weeks with one new song premiering per episode and the album dropping on May 19 on BC Music.

"The first track on our record will premiere VERY VERY soon for the whole world to hear, along with the release date of the record. In the meantime you can hear a sneak peak here and get pumped up!!" wrote the band on Facebook last week.

Also, one other notable is that guitarist and vocalist Devin Shelton will be marking his return after temporarily leaving the band for their last record.

Emery recently announced they will be playing a show with fellow post hardcore band Silverstein May 13th in Honolulu, HI at Hawaiian Brian's.

The show will be part of Silverstein's Discovering the Waterfront 10 year anniversary tour, and tickets went on sale February 25.
