Easter Vs. Resurrection Sunday: Which Stars Honored Jesus and Which Ones Celebrated Bunnies? (PHOTOS)

Hollywood has always been a very influential force among the masses. This begs the question, how did the biggest names in entertainment celebrate the extravagant festivity of Easter? Was it with bunny rabbits and eggs, or in remembrance of the resurrection of Jesus Christ?

Easter is considered one of the most important holidays of the Christianity. Its tradition is to celebrate the central event of the Christian faith: the resurrection of Jesus Christ three days after his death by crucifixion. The holiday, along with many others has become highly commercialized, making egg hunts and the Easter Bunny the central theme in many households throughout America.

Some sources claim the word Easter is derived from Eostre, a Teutonic goddess of spring and fertility and was adopted by the Catholic Church as a way to win over non-believers. Easter Sunday has been supplemented by popular customs; many of the traditions we see celebrated now were incorporated from the springtime fertility celebrations of the European and Middle Eastern pagan religion. For example rabbits and eggs, are widely-used pagan symbols for fertility.

Some Christians disassociate themselves entirely from using the word Easter and Easter eggs because of their pagan caparisons. Other Christians view Easter eggs, or other candies and treats, as symbols of joy and celebration. Let us take a look at some of the biggest names in Hollywood posted about the celebration this year.
