Doctor Who Cast News, Release Date: Nick Frost Joins Series For Christmas Special Episode

BBC has just announced that Nick Frost, of 'The World's End' and 'Shaun of the Dead' fame, will be featured on an episode of 'Doctor Who'. Apparently, the actor is going to appear on-screen during the upcoming Christmas Special episode.

For any fans looking for spoilers about what they can expect to see when the episode airs, they're out of luck. The producers and casts of the show, including Nick Frost, have been very tight lipped about the upcoming segment.

Nick Frost showed how excited he was about all of this in a recent interview, he said, "I'm so thrilled to have been asked to guest in the Doctor Who Christmas special, I'm such a fan of the show."

He went on to say that he fully understands his responsibility to keep the inner workings of 'Doctor Who' a secret, "The read-through was very difficult for me; I wanted to keep stuffing my fingers into my ears and scream 'No spoilers!' Every day on set I've had to silence my internal fan boy squeals!"

In regards to Frost, Executive Producer Steven Moffat said, "Frost at Christmas-it just makes sense! I worked with Nick on the 'Tintin' movie many years ago, and it's a real pleasure to lure him back to television for a ride on the TARDIS."

Besides Frost, other casts that have been confirmed by BBC include Faye Marsay, Natalie Gumede, and Nathan McMullen.

Additionally, Michael Troughton, whose father, Patrick Troughton, played the second incarnation of the Doctor, will also appear in the upcoming episode.

The highly-anticipated 'Doctor Who' Christmas Special will air on Christmas Day this year.
