Joseph Fiennes stars as Clavius in the biblical story, "Risen" |

"Risen," the Joseph Fiennes-starrer about the search for the body of the resurrected Jesus Christ, will be released on 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray and DVD on May 24, and will feature a lot of extras.

The extra footage include deleted scenes, three featurettes of behind-the-scene footage along with a commentary, according to the press release.

One of the featurettes is titled "The Mystery of The Resurrection: Making Risen," where director Kevin Reynolds and the crew talk about the circumstances leading to the making of the film. Another clip is titled "A.D. Jerusalem" which concentrates more on the stage set; while "Script to Screen" centers on the producers and their decision to make the film.

"The Battle of the Zealots Deconstructed," meanwhile, discusses one of the most epic scenes in "Risen."

Fiennes, for his part, told CBN that he gravitated to Clavius from the start.

"I think a big component in the movie for me and what I connect to with Clavius is the sense of the second chance, even if it is in the subconscious, which hasn't quite bubbled to the surface or he has worked out, so I love that component," he said.

"Risen" is "epic Biblical story of the Resurrection, as told through the eyes of a non-believer. Clavius, a powerful Roman Military Tribune, and his aide Lucius, are tasked with solving the mystery of what happened to Yahshua in the weeks following the crucifixion, in order to disprove the rumors of a risen Messiah and prevent an uprising in Jerusalem," the synopsis said.

Aside from Joseph Fiennes, the film also stars Lucius (Tom Felton), Luis Callejo ("The Boat), María Botto ("Mad Dogs") and Antonio Gil ("Quantum of Solace").
