"He knows how to pace himself," said Tigers catcher Alex Avila to reporters referring to Verlander. "He knows how to pitch. If you can make two, three, maybe four quality pitches early in the at-bat, you can get a quick out."

The Indians look to defeat the Tigers on the road again this afternoon. The Indians defeated the Tigers by the final score of 3-2 last night. Cleveland starter Zach McAllister (2-0) got the win for the Indians yesterday. Indians starter Danny Salazar (0-1) looks to get the win when he pitches against Tigers hurler Justin Verlander this afternoon.

"I think we have to remember that he's got like 10 Major League starts. It's easy to forget, because he had such a meteoric rise and he pitched in the playoff game," said Indians skipper Terry Francona to reporters in reference to his young starter Danny Salazar. "He's still a young pitcher that's learning, but there's a lot to like. He embraces challenges, which we really like. Sometimes, in an imperfect world, getting guys to just enjoy or embrace the challenge, if they have the talent we think they do, they'll be OK."
