'Deadpool 2' News, Rumors Update: 'Taken' Actor Liam Neeson Tapped To Play Cable Character?

The year has been a sweeping success for the Marvel Cinematic Universe, especially after the first "Deadpool" movie broke box office records globally.

Not much has been revealed yet about the second "Deadpool" movie, as far as its cast and plot are concerned. As of this writing, the plot of the movie still hangs in the balance, but rumors swirl around that it will see the death of one of its characters. Fans are also dying to know who will play the highly teased Marvel character, Cable.

While Marvel has not revealed anything official yet about "Deadpool 2," the movie has already induced quite the fandom for many. The hype is so intense that some fans even make videos involving its characters and upload them on the web. These fan-made videos are all unofficial, but they say a lot about what could happen in the sequel.

The cast of "Deadpool 2" is still unknown, especially with regards to the actor who will portray Cable. This ever-powerful mutant was teased by Ryan Reynolds in the post-credit scene of "Deadpool 1," and there are rumors that "Taken" actor Liam Neeson has already been tapped to play the role. However, some claim that "Bloodline" actor Kyle Chandler suits the role more perfectly than Neeson.

In the X-Men universe, Cable a.k.a. Nathan Summers is one of the most powerful mutants with his ability to time travel. A great marksman, he also possesses powerful telepathic abilities.

"Deadpool 2" is expected to hit theaters on Jan. 12, 2018.
