DC Talk Petitioned to Reunite in Charleston, N.C. in Order to Bring 'White & Black People Together' in Christ

DC Talk

It's been 20 years since DC Talk's landmark album Jesus Freak was released, and nearly 15 years since their last performance. With fans clamoring for the trio to do a reunion show, someone started a petition for a noble cause; DC Talk getting back together for Charleston, North Carolina.

"The wave of politics and polarization is coming back into to Charleston like a Tsunami. We humbly ask DC Talk to reunite in Charleston for a cause they have believed in since their start. We need to build on the momentum that has begun bringing white and black people together in the only way is has been proven successful: through Christ," reads the petition. "We are requesting that DC Talk perform a reunion show in Charleston, for the purposes of uniting black and white people."

DC Talk was perhaps the most popular Christian music act of all time, and when they announced their hiatus in 2001, they left their fans in a state of shock. The trio of TobyMac, Michael Tait, and Kevin Max, bridged the gap between pop, hard rock, and rap long before mainstream bands like Linkin Park. Not only were they authentically groundbreaking, they were also tremendously well received -- the rarest of species among musical groups.

On TobyMac's latest upcoming album, This Is Not A Test, the three will be together again on the track "Love Feels Like." Over the last few months Toby hinted that both Tait and Max would be appearing on his album, however, it was not revealed that they would both be on the same track until the track listing came out.
