Dave Grohl's All-Star Bash Rocks The Forum - Features Slash, Alice Cooper, David Lee Roth, & More

It's good to be Dave Grohl. The world has been privy to that fact, the better part of the past two decades, but it was further amplified when the surprise show that the Foo Fighters announced last week turned out to be a kaleidoscope of rock stars, which also happened to double as a celebration of Grohl's 46th birthday.

Last Saturday, fans who trotted down to The Forum in Inglewood, California were treated to a downright rock and roll spectacle when icons like Slash, Alice Cooper, David Lee Roth, Kiss' Paul Stanley, Motörhead's Lemmy Kilmister, among others, got together for a smorgasbord of rock anthems that filled a celebration that lasted close to four hours.

The show, which was billed as "An Evening with Foo Fighters in the Round," wound up being a 31-song set list, with the proceeds from the gates benefitting charities Sweet Relief, MusiCares, and the School of Rock Scholarship Fund.

The Foo Fighters made it no secret right off the bat that the lucky souls in The Forum that night were in for the time of their lives when they opened the show with Kiss' Paul Stanley to perform "Detroit Rock City" followed by Destroyer's "Do You Love Me?"

Alice Cooper performed "School's Out" and "I'm Eighteen" with the Foo Fighters, while the band was joined on the rock platform by Slash and Tenacious D for a rendition of Queen's "Tie Your Mother Down" as well as Led Zeppelin's "Immigrant Song."

Apart from the plethora of rock classics, the Foo Fighters also performed a slew of their own hits like "Everlong," "Learn To Fly," "My Hero," and "Times Like These," among others.

Other guests included Trombone Shorty, guitarist Zakk Wylde, Kyuss' Nick Oliveri, David Lee Roth, and Perry Farrell, who joined Grohl's band to perform Jane's Addiction's "Mountain Song" and Rolling Stone's "Miss You."

The star-studded affair was an all-star jam session reminiscent of the Foo Fighters' Sonic Highways explosion in New York.
