Danica Patrick to Host 'American Country Awards 2013' with Trace Adkins / NASCAR Star Takes on Country with "Then They Do Singer"

Danica Patrick is stepping off the track for a bit to help co-host the 2013 American Country Awards.

That's right Danica Patrick is going country. I guess her redneck appeal goes beyond NASCAR.

The racing icon will co-host the awards show with "Then They Do" singer Trace Adkins on December 10. Expect a lot of fiddles, boots and GoDaddy.com commercials for this year's event.

Adkins is a seasoned vet when it comes to the American Music Awards. Since they started the patting-of-the-back ceremony four years ago, Adkins has been chosen to co-host. Last year Adkins hosted the show alongside theater vet Kristin Chenoweth.

Patrick isn't exactly new to the country world. She's on record saying NASCAR has caused her to become a fan of the genre. She's even been featured in music videos for country stars Colt Ford and Miranda Lambert.

Adkins is obviously one of the biggest names in the business with his signature baritone vocals and light-hearted songs. His upcoming album is a Celtic spin on Christmas carols. The new album "The King's Gift" is scheduled for an October 29 release date.

This year's American Country Awards 2013 will air live on Fox from Mandalay Bay hotel in Las Vegas on December 10.

Do you think Danica Patrick will make a good co-host to Trace Adkin's at this year's awards show?
