'Criminal Minds' Season 10 Spoilers: Producer Reveals Jennifer Love Hewitt's Character

Erica Messer, the producer of 'Criminal Minds', has revealed more details about the series' latest character addition, Kate Callahan, an undercover FBI agent working in the bureau's Behavioral Analysis Unit.

According to Messer, the character set to be portrayed by 'I Know What You Did Last Summer' star Jennifer Love-Hewitt, is said to be unlike the rest of the agents in the FBI's BAU unit.

The show runner has also further revealed that Callahan is the type of character who would go to great lengths just to get her job done. Messer has also pointed out a teaser wherein Callahan is seen making out with a tattooed criminal, to indicate just how far the character would go to complete a mission.

Hewitt's character is said be introduced in Season 10, as a replacement for Alex Blake who left the BAU in the previous season.

'Criminal Minds' is Hewitt's third CBS TV project, following 'The Ghost Whisperer' in 2010, and 'The Client List', also in 2010.

Messer has expressed confidence in the singer-actress, stating that most of the 'Criminal Minds' team members have had previous work experience with the 'Garfield' star, and that all of them had a good working relationship with her.

CBS's 'Criminal Minds' Season 10 is set to air in October of this year, with the first of its 24 episodes scheduled to premiere on the 1st of the month.
