Colton Dixon Reveals 'Through All of It' Music Video Concept; Says He's 'Sad' & 'Proud' of American Idol's Ending [INTERVIEW]

Colton Dixon

Colton Dixon stopped to chat with BREATHEcast at the K-LOVE Fan Awards red carpet where he shared info on his new music video and the end of 'American Idol'.

The increasingly popular Dixon was nominated for Male Artist of the Year, something he still can't fathom.

"I still think they got it wrong," the singer jokingly said. "I grew up listening to these guys. All of those artists in my category I grew up listening to. It's just weird, it's awesome. To win would be even more awesome."

Dixon also revealed that he will be releasing his "Through All of It" single music video in a few weeks. The singer compiled stories from his fans through Facebook and Twitter that were hash tagged #ThroughAllOfIt. However, what he did not share with the fans is that he and his team went in and hand selected some of the stories to use in the music video. "I'm just so excited for you guys to see God working in someone else's life, and some of these stories are just rough."

Dixon shared one story about someone who has become a friend through this process, Ben. He has had cancer five or six times already and is only in his twenties. "Just to see the joy of God on his face, it's unbelievable," he said.

As most music fans know, Dixon got his start on 'American Idol' and was one of the finalists. Recently it was announced that the show would be ending their long run.

Dixon said he is "sad" yet "proud of them for making the decision. I think they realized, kind of quit while they're ahead. There's still 'American Idol'."
