Dixon recently spoke to NewReleaseTuesday about his single "More of You" off his new album, Anchor, and described it as a song that teaches us to grow closer to God.

Dixon mentioned that the track was actually the last song written for the album and the name of the song kept "resurfacing" to him.

"Think of two cups of water. One cup is you, the other cup is God. The water represents anything you're putting before God," he said, using an analogy he got from his youth pastor, "It could be entertainment, your family, or any of your favorite things. The water in God's cup simply represents Him. What God wants to do is fill us up with Him. He wants to draw us closer and closer to Himself and for us to be more and more like Him."

He continued, "What I've come to realize is that if we as believers want to truly experience the full potential of God's power and potential in our lives, then we have to empty our cups first to make more room for Him."

Colton explained this was something challenging for him, and it became the basis of the song because of its impact on him. He also said knowing what we put in our "cup" can be taken from us by God so we must be ready for that.

"It is such a fine line between being confident and giving God the glory for what you do. There's no doubt there are artists who know that they are talented. How they go about it is key. You can go on stage and kill it. It's more about how you are off stage. I think that's so important for people to see," he said in the interview, "There's everything from heavy screamo to light singer-songwriter stuff in Christian music, but offstage is what matters. How you're reaching generations is so important. It is so important to keep your priorities in line and your eyes focused on Who they should be focused on."
