CM Punk Returning to WWE 2014 News: WWE Deleting Punk From Record Books, Wrestler Considering MMA

Speculation is rife about CM Punk's plans for the future. Will he return to the WWE or will he be throwing his hat into an MMA ring?

If recent rumors are to be believed, it is unlikely that CM Punk will be returning to WWE anytime soon. Beyond that, many believe that the sports entertainment company will go ahead and erase him from the record books, like they did with Chris Benoit.

It is believed that WWE has been slowly removing CM Punk from its record books because the company continues to delete his presence from television and even posters.

Recently, fans saw that the WWE had stuck a post-it note over Punk's face on the Royal Rumble 2014 poster. This poster was seen offstage when WWE was filming the documentary 'Ultimate Warrior'. In fact, many consider this to be childish way WWE to behave. Nevertheless, some fans saw it as rather humorous.

While WWE has yet to blatantly bury Punk on TV, such concealed jabs are suggesting that the company is still angry about the manner in which he left the organization.

The latest and possibly most immature thing WWE has done to remove Punk from memory is to delete him from the poster of the 2013 SummerSlam PPV event, which showed Punk, along with other wrestlers, riding on a roller-coaster. Punk wrestled at that event when he faced Brock Lesnar, which many find was the best match in 2013. Fans who want to watch that PPV on the WWE Network can still do so, but they will not find Punk's face on the thumbnail poster.

While many thing the WWE is pulling off simple gimmicks, Punk is supposedly exploring the MMA of late. In a recent interview with Ariel Helwani in MMA Fighting, CM Punk has talked about WWE as well as his interest in fighting MMA.

Those who are not acquainted with CM Punk ought to know that CM Punk has been learning as well as training in different martial arts styles for several years now, and he really knows how to fight.
