Christian Woman Arrested After Tearing Down Satanic Display That Was in Place of Jesus & Nativity [SEE HERE]

Susan Hermeyck

54-year-old Susan Hemeryk was charged with criminal mischief this week after she destroyed a satanic display in the Florida Capital rotunda because she found it offensive.

Christmas this year brought about quite a few efforts from satanic temples trying to put out their own displays, claiming that if Christians can put out nativity scenes they too should be able to display what they believe. Although a display in Michigan went untouched, a Florida woman was not going to stand for that in her town.

Hemeryck, who was wearing a shirt that said "Catholic Warrior", spotted the exhibit of an angel falling from the sky into a pit of fire on Tuesday. The diorama contained the message "Happy Holidays from the satanic temple."

The piece was allegedly put up after a nativity scene was taken down by a group of atheist. Bizpac Review reports that the Tallahassee woman told Capitol officials that "she was sorry and had to take the satanic display." When told she could not, she then "reached forward and began to rip apart the display," according to the Florida Department of Law Enforcement probable-cause affidavit.

"It's just wrong when you remove baby Jesus two days before Christmas and put Satan in his place. That just can't happen. I couldn't allow it to happen," Hemeryck said according to the Associated Press.

"I was there at the right time and the right moment and I needed to take a stand against Satan," she continued, "I do not like the display. I think it's rude and it's sad that he put it up to protest the Nativity that means so much to millions of people. However, I don't think anyone should ever vandalize anything. Free speech is free speech whether we like it or not."

Hemeryck, who before this incident has never been charged with anything, said she did have one regret. "I just yanked that little devil off the fishing line. I should have just done a better job and finished it off for good," she concluded. Watch surveillance footage of the incident below:
