Christian Musician Brady Toops and 'Bachelorette' Britt Nilsson Explain Their Split

When Brady Toops, a Christian musician based out of Nashville, met Britt Nillson, an aspiring actress and Bachelor and Bachelorette alum, there seemed to be a real soul connection from the moment their eyes met. And when Brady chose to leave the show to pursue Britt off-camera in a grand romantic gesture, fans were really rooting for the two to make it work. But it was not to be. News broke last week that after nearly two months of dating, Toops and Nilsson decided to end their romance. They both acknowledged the spiritual growth that their brief relationship fostered and their plan to remain friends on their individual social media accounts.

Nilsson told her Instagram followers, "We had a wonderful, sweet, and life-giving relationship that I appreciated, learned from, and thoroughly enjoyed. Just because we didn't work out romantically doesn't mean we don't continue to value and love each other as brother and sister in Christ!" She went on to add, "We communicate candidly & frequently and will remain in each other's lives as great friends."

Brady Toops let his fans know by saying, "I'm sad to say that [Britt] and I are no longer together. We have been so grateful for everyone's love & support as this journey has unfolded. Thank you for rooting us on & thank you for your kindness. It has been felt on every side. We both immensely enjoyed getting to know each other, and I'm grateful for the beautiful moments we got to share. In getting to know her away from all the cameras, lights, & microphones, I truly got to see how special she really is."

Toops, who is touring this summer in support of his music, went on to compliment his former girlfriend warmly. "Britt is one of the loveliest, kindest, and most caring persons I have ever met, and she added so much to my life."

Several days after the initial announcement, Brady added a bit more commentary to the experience, demonstrating his sense of humor about the whole sequence events. He wrote an Instragram post about the 'real reasons' that he and Nilsson split, mentioning that "we had no real celebrity mashup name" and "Britt is afraid of heights, and not only am I afraid of heights, but I'm actually afraid of her being afraid of heights" as circumstances that doomed the relationships long-term success. He also explained in his light-hearted post that "once we left the show, they didn't give us any roses. How are we suppose [sic] to figure this out without any roses?" He summed up by mentioning the recording process for his next record, reminding fans that "we all know that break-up records are the records you can't stop listening to."

Both Toops and Nilsson appear to be moving forward in their individual pursuits, with Britt continuing her advocacy work with Worldvision and LA nonprofit The Giving Keys, and Brady continuing to write and record new music as he performs all over the country with bands like Crowder.
