Christian hip-hop duo Freestyle Fam have a mixtape dropping in October, but shhh, the details are a secret.

This mixtape is essentially a showcase for Freestyle Fam to let loose and rip on an album. The beats bump hard and the raps hit even harder as the duo lays into each snare smack with precision.

A little hint into the mixtape is that a prominent Christian rapper gave his endorsement of the project, and the beats are made by someone who works within the industry.

Right after emcees Quest the Wordsmith and Mike Testa release the mixtape they will be heading out to Flavor Fest October 9 through the 12. The event has been going on since 1999 and will begin at 7 pm each night at Crossover Church in Tampa, Florida.

Some of the more prominent names that are performing are: KB, Social Club, Canton Jones, MC Jin, Da Truth, and KJ-52.

Earlier this year Freestyle Fam did a weekly series on YouTube called the Total B.S. (Basement Sessions). Every week they endeavored to slay rhymes and flip words like lyrical acrobats. They had many guests including Heesun Lee.

FreeStyle Fam's rap is not for everyone. They are brash, seemingly arrogant, and even do not fit the typical Christian mold; however, what these guys do well is showcase their God given talent, and attract non-believers with pure unfiltered hip-hop that hits heavy. Once they draw the listener in, they hit them with the Lord's truth, and speak the gospel into their lives, unashamed.

This is the Fam's ministry, which has helped them reach those lost on street corners and on stage. It has allowed them to step in the ring with secular rappers, and hold their own while repping Christ, getting respect, and witnessing to the non-believer at the same time. It steps out of the cookie cutter "Christian rap" model that sounds pretty good, but caters to the believer. They do not want to preach to the choir, they want to preach to the lost.
