Canadian actress Stana Katic, who portrays Kate Beckett in 'Castle,' took to her Twitter handle recently to announce that her character may not appear in the premiere episode of the upcoming Season 8 of the ABC crime television drama series. She further stated that fans may, however, see her onscreen partner Richard Castle (Nathan Fillion) along with the remaining cast of the show.

According to IB Times, the 37-year-old actress wished good luck to all her co-stars on their first day's shooting and said that she would be joining them shortly. The actress wrote, "To all of my #Castle friends: have a GREAT 1st day back tomorrow! I miss you & will see you soon. I can't wait to tell great stories together."

According to the report, this is, however, not the first time that speculations regarding the actress' appearance in 'Castle' Season 8 premiere episode are making the rounds. An earlier report also stated that fans will not see Katic in the premiere episode of the long-running series, but TV Line had dismissed it as a mere rumor.

Now, the issue has been resolved as the actress herself has announced that she will not be seen in the premiere episode of the much-liked show.

Meanwhile, the report quotes Molly Quinn, who portrays the character of Alexis Castle, as saying that Terence Paul Winter and Alexi Hawley, the new show runners of 'Castle,' "have put the show on steroids"

The actress stated, "I feel like today has been 48 hours long. #CastleSeason8 on the verge. :) See y'all on the flip side."

At the same time, actress Susan Sullivan, who portrays Martha Rodgers, Richard's mother in the series, said that fans can expect plenty of surprises as well as romantic scenes in 'Castle' Season 8.

"Dear Twitter chums...Just read the first script!! And I am can't wait for you all to jump into this Castle season....surprises, magic, love," Sullivan tweeted.

Entertainment Weekly reports that fans will be delighted to known that 'The Walking Dead' actor Sunkrish Bala will be joining the cast of 'Castle' in the role of "a high-strung tech analyst with a complicated past."

 'Castle' Season 8 will premiere on Monday, Sept. 21.
