On April 12, Christian artist Brian Allen released his latest single, "Greater is Your Name," which is a cut from his album, "Magnificent."

Allen said his new album is very personal to him, more than any production he's done in the past, and will hopefully resonate with those who have lost a loved one.

"Last year I lost my father unexpectedly," he said in a statement. "The tragedy of his loss is where the inspiration for my new songs came from. Even in the midst of that, God's name is great and He is 'Magnificent!'"

When he's not making music, Brian Allen is a full-time pastor at More Than Conquerors Ministries. His father was a pastor for 40 years.

His colorful life is not unlike that of the prodigal son who realized that God is what he's been missing most in his life. Allen was once addicted to drugs and spent four and a half years in prison for drug trafficking.

But he found God while in jail and determined to turn his life around, enrolled at Lancaster Bible College, and finished with a Bachelor of Bible Theology degree.

Allen also didn't forget where he came from, as the More Than Conquerors Ministries congregation is a constant presence in prison facilities, trying to reach out to inmates and their visitors.

"God is using the ministry to touch many lives," he said. "My heart's desire is to reach the lost and tell the world about Jesus."

Brian Allen's new single, "Greater is Your Name," follows the success of "Not on my Own" and "Your Love," which peaked at no. 2 and no. 1 on Christian radio charts.
