‘Bones’ Season 10 Episode 3 Spoilers: 'The Purging of the Pundit,' Light-Hearted Tone

The first two episodes of 'Bones' Season 10 left fans in grief over the unexpected death of dear Dr. Lance Sweets, but the upcoming episode, "The Purging of the Pundit," will certainly uplift the story.

The upcoming episode is set to take a more light-hearted path as Booth and Brennan start investigating the death of a conservative radio host with a freaky sex life. In a sneak peek video on E! News, both characters are seen unable to resist making some tongue-in-cheeks jokes as they inspect a sex dungeon.

With Sweet being beaten to death by a trained assassin, the 10th season of 'Bones' got off on the right foot.

Episode 2 entitled "Lance to the Heart" was about the end of the Jeffersonian team's investigation on the conspiracy that killed Dr. Sweets, played by actor John Francis Daley. They also had FBI Agent Seeley Booth, played by David Boreanaz, in jail by the end of the episode.

Meanwhile, 'Bones' executive producer Stephen Nathan shared some insights about Daley's character in an interview with E! News. He said they wanted to send him off in an honorable way showing "how much [our] characters have changed, grown because of their contact with Sweets."

"It's out of tragedy that great things come and it's out of great joy that we experience the pain of loss and sorrow. All I can say is this is what makes the show still feel alive ten years later," Nathan added.

He also revealed that there will be no more deaths after Sweets'. However, there will be villains who might die in this season as well. He also gave a hint on the series going back to its original fun feel.

"Bones is not going to turn into a dark show where they are dealing with these demons all of the time. We are going to be back on our traditional Bones footing very quickly," he added.

Episode 3 entitled "The Purging of the Pundit" will air on Thursday at 8 pm on FOX.
