Singer-songwriter Aaron Boyd on Friday released his latest album, Jericho, via Lucid Artist Management. The new 14-track album was unveiled earlier this week during a special VIP sneak peek held in Franklin, Tenn., just outside of Nashville, where industry leaders were treated to a listening party and a special performance by Boyd.
The album's title track, "Jericho," features a special appearance by Newsboys singer Michael Tait, and the project also includes inspiring songs such as "Beauty for Ashes," "To the World," and "I Surrender All." Half of the proceeds from Jericho album sales will go to benefit the work of World Orphans, a non-profit that seeks to provide holistic care to vulnerable families through the local church.
"I am so excited about the release of this project," Boyd says. "I've partnered with World Orphans for the last few years and seeing the incredible work they are doing across the globe. I love these guys to bits and believe wholeheartedly in what they are doing to protect vulnerable children."
Perhaps best known for his heartfelt worship anthem "God Of This City," which Boyd co-wrote with members of the now-defunct Northern Irish band Bluetree, the song received widespread acclaim in 2008 after being featured on Passion Music's live recording Passion: God of This City, and Chris Tomlin's studio album Hello Love.
It was a mission trip to Pattaya, Thailand, over ten years ago that set the trajectory of Boyd's current ministry and life. During the mission trip, "God Of This City" was written in the most obscure venue.
Following that experience, Boyd says he has used every platform possible to raise funds and awareness around the issues that he has witnessed on his many mission trips since.
He shares, "I want to speak for those who cannot speak for themselves and bring injustice from the darkness into the light."
