'Real Time With Bill Maher' host Bill Maher playfully makes fun of Christianity and Atheism in a comedy sketch in a latest 'Funny or Die' video titled 'Bill Maher's Dirty Secret'.

In the beginning of the video, the 58-year-old New York native was seen holding rosary beads while praying (on his knees) to a mini shrine to Jesus' mother Mary in the skit, which stunned his comedic colleague Annabelle Gurwitch.

"But you're an atheist," said Gurwitch to Maher before he reveals his "Dirty Secret" in the video.

As a result, Maher (in character) reveals to her that he is actually a Christian actor who plays an atheist on TV.

"Stephen Colbert isn't really conservative. Rock Hudson isn't really a lady killer. This is an act. This is what we do. This is Hollywood, sweetheart," said Maher to Gurwitch.

He then mockingly explains to Gurwitch why he made his controversial comedy film about religion titled 'Religulous' in 2008.

"Yes, I made a movie because that's where the money is. If stupid atheists want to give me their money, go around all the country to see me play, every place I play I take that money and give it to local churches," said Maher to Gurwitch.

He goes on to say, "And not the charity stuff, they got that s--- covered, this is for strictly enforcing religious dogma because that's what it's all about."

Maher then jested that Jesus visited him when he was 14 years old in a vision and spoke to the HBO television host.

"He sat at the edge of my bed and told me to 'Have fun with it'. That's what he said, 'Just have fun with it because...if you do the right thing, you gonna get to Heaven, but Heaven doesn't pay to explain it to you, because you have to experience it to know.' Be one of my religious friends, I have many," said Maher.

The comedian then takes a shot at 'Way of the Master' host Kirk Cameron, after revealing (in character) that he prays with conservative political commentator Ann Coulter constantly.

'That's a little p---k, I would not go near that guy. That's my life, that's who I am and I'm glad after all these years you found out," said Maher to Gurwitch.
