Hawaiian recording artist Ben Vegas and Maila Gibson have been nominated in three categories at the 2016 N? H?k? Hanohano Awards Hawaii Academy of Recording Arts. Meanwhile, New Hope Oahu, which also got a nomination, will also perform at the event.

The N? H?k? Hanohano Awards is Hawaii's version of the Grammy Awards, and will be held on May 28 at the Hawai'I Convention Center.

Ben & Maila are nominated for Best Performance by a Vocal Duo or Group for "All about Love," Favorite Entertainer of the Year, and Island Music Album of the year for "All about Love.' New Hope Oahu, meanwhile, is nominated for Best Performance of Religious Material for "Greater Together."

New Hope Oahu is the worship group of New Hope Christian Fellowship, founded by Pastor Wayne and wife Anna in 1995. From small beginnings, the congregation is now recognized as among the top ten "most innovative churches in America."

Ben Vegas and Maila Gibson, meanwhile, are a local duo who made a name for themselves as solo artists.

The press release said, "Ben Vegas has performed among many world-renowned artists like Stevie Wonder, Ray Charles, and Chaka Khan. In Hawaii, he is best known for number one hits like 'Puanani,' and 'Maile Lei.'"

For her part, Maila Gibson has performed with Natalie Cole, Kenny Loggins, Jim Brickman and Michael McDonald, among others.

"She is best known for her recording of 'The Prayer' with Grammy nominated Hawaiian recording artists, Ho'okena," it added.

Ben & Mail have been performing together for over 16 years now. Their second album, "All About Love," was released in November 2015.
