'Battlefield 1' Release Date: EA's Game Title May Hit In October; World War I Theme Almost Rejected?

In line with Electronic Arts' "Battlefield 1," it is revealed that the game title may hit game shelves in October, in addition to rumors that the World War I setting almost did not happen.

The initial "Battlefield 1" is set to be released for the Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and Microsoft Windows on Oct. 18, Gotta Be Mobile has learned. As per the publication, this precedes the game's global release date, which is on Oct. 21.

There are two ways for gamers to play "Battlefield 1" prior to its official release. The publication mentioned that first, players can attend EA Play in June, when EA DICE is set to have a demonstration for the game. The second way to play and explore the game title before October is to signup for access to the public "Battlefield 1" beta.

In other news, talks have revealed that "Battlefield 1's" World War I theme nearly failed to materialize. In his interview with Game Spot, EA Studios Vice President Patrick Soderlund said that World War I had not been the most obvious choice, explaining that if one looked at what other partners in the industry were doing, they were going into sci-fi.

Soderlund added that they had had a lot of success in the modern military space; however, they had felt like there had been a need for a change. He also said that they had to remember that so far, they had only shown a trailer. For the EA Studios Vice President, the game had gotten a lot of success, but the more important thing was that they had to return and esure that they deliver on the full promise of what "Battlefield" could be.

Overall, fans and gamers have to wait until "Battlefield 1" is released in October.
