'Bad Boys 3' Release Date, Cast: Will Smith Backs To Film, ‘We’re Definitely Doing Another One’ [INTERVIEW]

"Suicide Squad" actor Will Smith has voiced his thoughts on returning to the "Bad Boys" in Joe Carnahan's action crime thriller movie "Bad Boys 3."

In his recent interview with BBC radio, Smith said that he had seen his co-star Martin Lawrence a few weeks ago. The actor mentioned that he had not seen him for about two years and they had just looked at each other and had hugged. For Smith, in that moment they had both known that they had been making another "Bad Boys."

"We're definitely doing another one," the "Suicide Squad" star said.

According to Cinema Blend, while it had been over ten years since people had last seen the exploits of detectives Mike Lowrey (Smith) and Marcus Bennett (Lawrence), one had to think at this point that the characters, played by the two actors, still had the same "romantic" relationship, just older and wiser.

In the "Bad Boys" storyline, Lowrey is portrayed as a "trust-fund" child who did the "cop thing" for the adrenaline rush, as per the publication. On the other hand, Bennett is a "neurotic family man." with their personalities, they managed to mess up with people like drug dealers. With the film in early talks, the plot of "Bad Boys 3" is unknown at the moment.

With Carnahan at the helm of the film, "Bad Boys" writer George Gallo and "Safe House" actor David Guggenheim are on board to pen the film script.

Carnahan's "Bad Boys 3" is set to premiere in theaters in the United States on Feb. 17, 2017.
