'Avengers: Infinity War' Release Date, Plot Rumors, Spoilers: Star Lord’s Role To Be Pivotal

In line with Anthony Russo and Joe Russo's Marvel Comics film duology "Avengers: Infinity Wars," "Guardians of the Galaxy's" Peter Quill, also known as Star Lord is rumored to have a pivotal role.

Star Lord is set to have a sizable role in the Russos' "Avengers: Infinity War," Schmoes Know has learned, as cited by Screen Rant. As per the publication, the "Guardians of the Galaxy" lead character is set to be significant in the story, as the Avengers join him as they take on a "new cosmic threat."

The director duo previously confirmed Star Lord's appearance, along with Vin Diesel's affirmation that the "Guardians" team is set to engage in a battle. As per the report, seeing Quill as one of the integral characters in "Avengers: Infinity War" is logical, as he could help merge two parts of the cosmos. The logical also connects with the inclusion of Star Lord's father in "Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol. 2," which potentially provides fans more details about the main villain and Mad Titan, Thanos.

Along with the Russos as directors, Christopher Markus and Stephen McFreely are on board to pen the screenplay. The film stars Josh Brolin, Paul Rudd, Bradley Cooper, Evangeline Lilly, Samuel L. Jackson, Zoe Saldana, Chris Evans, Robert Downey Jr., Benedict Cumberbatch, Brie Larson, Sebastian Stan, Chris Hemsworth, Karen Gillan, Scarlett Johansson, Elizabeth Olsen, and Chris Pratt as Star Lord/Quill.

"Avengers: Infinity War - Part 1" is set to be released on Apr. 25, 2018 while "Avengers: Infinity War - Part 2" is slated to be released in United States theaters on May 3, 2019. Meanwhile "Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol. 2" premieres on May 5, 2017.
