Author, speaker and chaplain Ginger Sanders' latest book, Fireflies: Sharing God's Light in the Time of Loss, has received a 2017 Author's Excellence Award (A.E.A.) in the Children's Book category.

The Author's Excellence Awards honors outstanding Christian books from independent and small-press authors. Awards are given in in 10 categories, including Science Fiction, Action/Adventure, Drama, Romance, Satire, Children's Books, Poetry, Mystery/Horror, Illustrations and Biographies.

"This award from Author's Excellence Awards was a wonderful surprise!" says Sanders. "I am so blessed that the hope contained in this book continues to be shared. It was an honor for Fireflies to be nominated, but even more to win the award for 2017!"

"Fireflies is based on a true story about God revealing death in a way that is easy enough for a child to understand," continues Sanders. "I am so grateful to the family that allowed me to share, so others may find peace in a time of loss."

This is not the first time Sanders' latest book has been so honored. In April of 2017, Fireflies received the Book of the Year Award (Children 4-8 Category) from the Christian Small Publishers Association (CSPA).

Fireflies is published by Xulon Press and beautifully illustrated by Tracy Applewhite Broome. To learn more about Sanders and Fireflies, visit gingersanders.com
