Attack on Titan Season 2 Release Date News: Air Date Still Unknown, Rumors Claiming 2015 Premiere

Even though the second season of the popular anime series 'Attack on Titan' has been confirmed, there's no word yet about its release date.

As it stands, the production for Season 2 of the show has been ongoing since August, 2014.

The first season of the anime aired from April 6 to September 28 last year, which means it has been a year since an a new episode was broadcast.

Rumors are circulating around the Internet that the upcoming second season is likely to air in 2015.

Although the future of the anime's second season still remains uncertain, good news is available for the fans of 'Attack on Titan'.

It was announced last August that an original video animation series will be released. The upcoming two-episode original video animation will be based on the prequel manga entitled 'Attack on Titan: No Regrets'.

The original video animation episodes are scheduled to be released on December 9 this year and April 9 next year together with the 15th and 16th volume of the manga series.

In addition to this, the first season of 'Attack on Titan' will be made into two anime theatrical films. The first film entitled 'Attack on Titan Part 1: Crimson Bow and Arrow' will be released on November 22, while the second one, 'Attack on Titan Part 2: Wings of Freedom' will be released in 2015.

Meanwhile, 'Attack on Titan' creator Hajime Isayama won the award for the Best American Edition of Foreign Material category on the 2014 Harvey Awards.

Isayama's 'Attack on Titan' was nominated for the award in July together with Taiyo Matsumoto's 'Sunny', Shigeru Mizuki's 'Showa: A History of Showa Japan', Matz's 'The Killer: volume 4' by Studio Archaia, and Ulli Lust's 'Today Is the Last Day of the Rest of Your Life' by Fantagraphics Books.
