Assassin's Creed Rogue PC Port Release Date: Ubisoft Talks Windows Version Launch [VIDEO]

PC gamers have been in the dark about the upcoming 'Assassin's Creed Rogue' title since it's been announced exclusively for consoles. However, Ubisoft has flickered on a light at the end of the tunnel as they are apparently in talks about a PC port for the game.

'Assassin's Creed Rogue' takes the franchise for a spin as gamers assume the role of Shay Patrick Cormac, who's an Assassin who jumps ship and becomes a Templar following a betrayal at the hands of the Brotherhood.

Associate Producer Karl Von Der Luhe revealed some insight into this idea during a Uplay interview, "This is something we've thought about all the way since AC1. What would it be like to play as a Templar?"

He went on to say, "We think it's really powerful, both in gameplay and storyline [and] premise. Shay Patrick Cormac will go through a very emotional journey from being an Assassin to being a fully-fledged Templar, and we want the player to go through a similar journey."

However, there's a catch to all of this. Only gamers who own a PS3 of Xbox 360 will be able to step into Cormac's boots. This should come across as strange to many as all the other 'AC' titles have been developed on PC, even the upcoming 'Assassin's Creed Unity' is getting a Windows version.

On that note, it seems that Ubisoft has noticed this too, and had this to say about a PC version of 'Assassin's Creed Rogue', "We've heard a lot of response requesting a PC version, so we'll be looking into that very soon," Von Der Luhe said.

While this doesn't really confirm the PC port of the game, it at least gives Windows based gamers something to hope for. Since both 'Assassin's Creed Rogue' and 'Assassin's Creed Unity' titles are looking at November release dates, it can be expected that a PC port of 'AC: Rogue' will be announced later this year.
