Angie Miller on 'American Idol' 2013: Judges Blown Away with "Bring Me To Life" Performance on Last Week's 'Rock Night'

American Idol's six remaining contestants will sing two songs on tonight's performance episode at 8/7c on FOX. Angie Miller is widely regarded as one of this season's top contenders to win.

Last week's 'Rock Night' theme pushed Angie Miller to new heights. Angie chose to sing "Bring Me to Life" by Evanescence. Delivering the night's best performance, Angie was edgy and creative. Miller started the rock ballad on piano. Midway through she gets up, walks center stage and delivers a powerhouse performance from the podium.

Though the wind machine blowing in Angie's face had enough force to tip a cow, the Beverly native seemed unfazed; with the exception of tugging at her top to make sure it stayed on. Angie Miller was poised and professional; both of which are necessary traits for any American Idol hopeful.

The judges unanimously agreed. Nicki Minaj encouraged Angie to hop on piano more, citing it as one of her strengths. Randy Jackson told Miller the performance was amazing, focusing on her stellar final note. Mariah Carey liked how Angie was really starting to flex her "edgy" side more and told Miller to push it even further. Keith Urban, siding with Jimmy Iovine from a few weeks ago, told Angie the vocal was strong but that she still seemed a little to "conscious" of her surroundings on stage. He urged Miller to surrender to the songs emotionally.

Earlier in the episode Miller performed a duet of Queen's "Crazy Little Thing Called Love" with the competition's weakest singer, Lazaro Arbos. Though Randy Jackson called the performance "amazing, as usual," Arbos' second lyric blunder in two weeks was enough to ruin the song for me.

Tune in to American Idol 2013 tonight at 8/7c on FOX.
