Reach Records rapper Andy Mineo followed his label mate Lecrae's footsteps and decided to join the protestors in New York after the Eric Garner verdict.

In the wake of both the Mike Brown and Eric Garner verdicts the guys at Reach Records decided to do something about it. Last week Lecrae gathered in Atlanta with Brown protestors to be a voice of reason among the population. This week, upon hearing the verdict that police officer Pantaleo would not be charged for the fatal chokehold that killed Garner, Mineo followed suit and gathered in Times Square to pray.

Before heading out to the heart of the city, Mineo took to Facebook to share his thoughts on people being treated unfairly. "U don't have to agree w somebody's lifestyle to stand up 4 them when they're mistreated," he wrote, "Our hearts should break for ANY human being treated unjustly. Those of differing religions views, sexual orientation or ethnicity. They are made in God's image & have eternal value.

A few hours later Mineo took to the social media site to ask people to join him on the ruby-red structural glass steps in Times Square to intercede on behalf of the people.

"In Times Square at the red stairs with church family to pray alongside peaceful protestors. Join us. We will be here until 9:30pm," he said.

Some of Mineo's fans agreed with his methods, others did not. "Thank you Andy Mineo for the work your doing for the kingdom sir," one wrote, another asked, "Protesting what exactly? The police officer was exonerated due to evidence including video of the arrest."

Mineo has not shied away from speaking his opinion. When hearing the news of the Brown verdict Mineo weighed in on what is going on in Ferguson by posting an article that explains the ordeal as being a "Gospel Issue." This post sparked a bit of a comment debate between the rapper and a few of his followers.
