Android 6.0 Marshmallow Update: OS Coming To Sony Xperia Z3+, Z4, and Z5; New Features

In line with Android 6.0 Marshmallow OTA Update, the operating system is set to be available for global users of the Sony Xperia Z3+, Z4, and Z5.

In the beginning of March this year, Sony had reportedly rolled out Android 6.0 upgrade for the Xperia Z5 line, which includes the Xperia Z5, Xperia Z5 Compact, and Xperia Z5 Premium, in Japan via the DoCoMo service provider, International Business Times reported. As per the publication, the tech company in UK had vowed that the software update would be accessible to owners of the Xperia Z5 series, Xperia Z3+, and Xperia Z4 tablet from Mar. 7.

As per the Xperia Blog, the Android 6.0 Mashmallow update has a build number of 32.1.A.1.163 and it tags along the security updates in February. According to the publication, the update will not feature the stamina mode, but it will be available in the upcoming firmware update. The update also excludes support for adaptable storage, which indicates that Xperia users will not be able to integrate a microSD card on their mobile device.

It has also been revealed that Sonny is presently running its Xperia Beta program, which enables users of the Xperia Z2, Xperia Z3, and Xperia Z3 Compact to test the beta edition of the Android 6.0 and give comments and suggestions about its performance.

As per Android, its version 6.0 or Marshmallow features smart shortcuts from various applications, as evidenced simple taps that provide users with valuable data and applications that are useful to boost the mobile phone's efficiency. The update also helps save the battery life while at rest or standby, in addition to maintaining an exceptional performance.

Android users will also be able to have greater control on their devices with app permissions, which give them the choice to access certain apps in the device. Also, users will be able to skip passwords with a simplified security via fingerprint.
