Amy Grant's New Album 'How Mercy Looks From Here' Releases Today, May 14th

Nashville's very own singer-songwriter, Amy Grant has been in the shadows for the last ten years dealing with everyday life and enjoying her family.

The inspiring Christian artist has not only won six Grammy Awards but has received a total of 22 Dove Awards during her time as an artist, as well as many more lifetime achievements.

Her first album in ten years is dedicated to her mother, who told her to "sing something that matters", shortly before she passed back in 2011. By hearing that, Grant ran with the inspiration and made it in to her latest album How Mercy Looks From Here

Grants first full length album since 2003 merely took a week to produce, but Grant stated it took a decade in the making to make it right. "It is all of the work that happens before you walk into the studio that takes so much time." Grant stated to The Tennessean during an interview.

The newest album features guest artist as; Sheryl Crow, James Taylor, Carole King singing amongst Grant during tracks, as well as having her husband, Vince Gill being featured as a songsmith.

With Grant getting a kick out of sharing her music with other artists, she also continues to shares her fellow colleagues music with close friends. "People have asked in the past, 'Who would you sing with if you could?' And I've always said, Well I don't know, just whatever happens. But I felt very intentional inviting these guests. Mostly because I love their work, but also because I felt like what they brought to the table creatively was exactly what that song needed". stated Grant.

Amy released her first album back in 1977 when she was a teenager. With 90's mainstream hits, most of her work is known for her unbelievable spirituality. Yet it doesn't bother the singer since her music has always been represented as a sacred place.

Amy's latest album How Mercy Looks From Here officially comes out today (May 14).

"I feel like I've cooked a big meal with all of my best recipes, and said, 'Come Eat'" says Grant.
