American Idol Contestant Lazaro Arbos Says His Stutter Is Not What Helped Him Make the Top 6

"American Idol" whittled the Top 6 down to the Top 5 last week and the clear choice to get voted off was Lazaro Arbos.

This was not because Arbos was bad, even though his final performances on Wednesday were not great, it is just that the final ladies in the competition are just that good.

Arbos can be proud that he was the last man standing in the competition.  Since the Top 10 were announced, a guy has gone home every week, leaving the Top 5 for this week on "American Idol" all women.  This is the first time in twelve seasons of the show that there has been a Top 5 of ladies.  This could bode well for success though, as the two biggest career winners of the show, Kelly Clarkson (season 1) and Carrie Underwood (season 4) have both been ladies.
In the story on Yahoo here, Arbos says that he did not feel that people voted for him just because he has a stuttering people.  He said, ""I think that I had really good songs. I had bad songs, but I had really good ones (too) and when I messed up, they stopped voting for me."

Simple enough, and he has a valid point.  He does admit that some of the initial attention might have been because of his stuttering, but he is a good looking guy who did have several good performances this season on Idol.  He just hit his wall last week when going up against singers on a different level then him.  You could tell last week the pressure of the situation was affecting his voice performance.

We hope Lazaro Arbos has a great singing career and much success for us all to enjoy in the future.
