‘American Horror Story’ Season 4 Spoilers: Freak Show Cast Will Add Neil Patrick Harris?

'American Horror Story' series creator Ryan Murphy has revealed some spoilers about the upcoming fourth season, set to premiere in October.

Murphy stated that the season will take place in the year 1950, and he said, "If you look historically what happened in the year 1950, there's some more clues in that year. It's a period piece."

The show runner also confirmed that Jessica Lange will be returning for a fourth season, which is also rumored to be her last season. Lange will be playing a role similar to Marlene Dietrich. "Jessica Lange has already started practicing her German accent so I'm very excited!" said Murphy.

Other stars who will be returning for Season 4 are Kathy Bates, who is believed to have a main role, Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters, Frances Conroy and Angela Bassett. At the 2014 Paleyfest, it was announced that all the cast members present would be returning to the show. The announcement confirmed the return of Emma Roberts, Gabourey Sidibe, and Jamie Brewer to the "American Horror Story'.

Recently, Michael Chiklis was announced to play the father of Peters' character and ex-husband of Bates' character.

There is also a possibility that another big name will be joining the cast. On July 18, Murphy took to Twitter to contact Neil Patrick Harris, after the actor revealed that he was a big fan of the show.

""@ActuallyNPH of course you can be on Freak Show! I have a role I think you'd love," said Murphy on his Twitter account. As of now, Harris has yet to respond to Murphy.

Filming for Season 4 of "American Horror Story' is currently ongoing. "Freak Show" is set to return to FX in October.
