Without much noise in the news, Amazon launched a white variant of its Echot Dot, not to mention the huge markdown in price.

Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos said in a statement sent to USA Today that the new device is much more powerful because it "can hear you from across the room, even when it's noisy or music is playing." The device now features the seven microphone array previously found only in the Echo.

Amazon Echo Dot is for sale, and the price was slashed from the original $89.99 to just $49.99.

Tech Crunch said that the news about the new Amazon Echo Dot is not really surprising considering the earlier leaks. The device can connect to your home infotainment through a 3.5mm jack or through Bluetooth. You can then play music from different launchers like Spotify, Amazon Music, Pandora and others.

With the price point now so low, you can buy multiple devices and the Amazon Echo Dot that is closest to you can follow your command through what the company calls the "echo spatial perception."

And that's not the only good news as it was announced that the Amazon Echo Dot launches in the UK and Germany, albeit a year too late that the US.

Gartner senior analyst Werner Goertz told USA Today that the news about the Amazon Echo Dot being rolled out in the United Kingdom and Germany would be bad for the competition.

"The Amazon Echo effectively created this device category," Goertz explained. "Alexa's expansion into UK and Germany marks the international rollout which will be extremely difficult for others to match."
