Amanda Knox Murder Case Update: Cocaine Dealer Arrested in Italy - Another Attempt to Slur Knox?

A drug dealer who reportedly had some kind of connection with Amanda Knox, the American convicted of murdering her British roommate in Perugia, Italy back in 2007.

According to Giallo, an Italian tabloid, the suspect is part of a drug ring currently being investigated for its association with Knox before Meredith Kercher was murdered at the house she shared with the American student.

As stated by previous reports in the tabloid, the cocaine dealer, only known as 'F', allegedly had frequent contact with Knox before and after the time of Kercher's murder.

Although the American student's association with the drug ring and its alleged dealer wasn't brought up during the series of murder trials in 2007-2008, the Italian tabloid earlier reported that it had in fact caught the local police's attention. They later added that the Italian police had started a probe on this angle after finding the drug dealer's phone number on Knox's cellphone.

Skeptics meanwhile, believe that the latest drug dealer connection is yet another attempt by the prosecution in the case to slur Knox's name, and to try and turn the public opinion against her.

The unnamed drug dealer, who was arrested for a crime independent of Knox's murder case, was allegedly found directly connected to a man named Luciano who was previously indicted for attempting to murder his own brother by stabbing him 16 times during an altercation involving drug dealing back in 2006.

The latest angle on the Meredith Kercher murder is yet to be investigated while Amanda Knox is set to present her defense at the Italian Top Appeals Court after she was sentenced to 28 years in prison for the same case earlier this year.
