Alicia Keys' ‘We Are Here’ Song Cries Out for Love & Unity in Midst of War; Hopes to Start a Revolution to Bring Peace [VIDEO]

Contrary to some of the music that is currently played on mainstream radio, singer Alicia Keys is taking another approach and created an anthem to bring the world together in these times of war and hatred. The singer is hopeful that a revolution can ensue.

Keys now pregnant with her second child, has been making her media rounds promoting her new song, "We Are Here." Keys told Angie Martinez in a recent interview that all of her new music is coming from a divine place and her latest single was born out of a conversation she had with someone who asked her the question, "why are you here?'"

The verses of the catchy tune mention, the "Bombs over Baghdad" and the issues in Gaza, Israel, Nigeria, the lack of support for education, single parenting and many more. Keys provides the answer to the question of "why we are here" is for each other as she sings "we are here for all of us."

"Let's do more giving, Do more forgiving, yeah, Our souls were brought together so that we could love each other," the singer said in the song.

Keys told Martinez that she wrote the song with her backdrop being everything that is happening in the world today. Keys also started the hashtag #Iamherefor in hopes to get others to chime in and reflect on the change that an individual can make.

The New York native told Matt Lauer on the 'Today' show, "I'm here for you and I believe the answer is that we're here for all of us. We're here to be there for each other."

The song has ignited a consciousness in several people on the web including some of her celebrity friends as they have taken to Twitter with messages to explain what they are here on Earth for.
