4th of July Banks Open or Closed? Wells Fargo, Chase, Citi Bank, Bank of America - Which are Open on Fourth July 2014

Banks such as Wells Fargo, Bank of America, Citibank, Chase and other major banks in America will be closed for the day. Credit union companies have also decided to take the holiday so that their employees can enjoy a long 4th of July weekend with their families.

The banks will reopen Monday unless they have branches that open on the weekends. Other banks such as the Citizens Bank that have branches inside supermarkets will be opened during the weekend. However, it is still advised to call the local branch to confirm if they will be opened during the weekends.

TD Bank has declared that they will be available for four holidays a year: Martin Luther King Jr. Day, President's Day, Columbus Day and Veterans Day.

In 2013, TD Bank also opened on Independence Day. However, they would not be opened for this year's Independence Day because of the change of administrative schedule.

If you really need to access the bank but could not make it before the holiday, you can withdraw from the ATM machines located at the banks' branches. Most ATMs are available 24 hours a day.

If you need to use an ATM not associated with your bank, there is a withdrawal fee that could range from $1 to $3.50 per transaction. As for credit unions, most of them have smartphone apps where customers can transfer funds, pay bills and check their balances anytime.

All government offices will also be closed during the 4th of July. US post offices and the stock market will be closed as well. The only delivery service available today will be Express Mail.
