2NE1 "Do You Love Me" Music Video to Use "Home Movie" Format Using Old Cameras and Phones / Single Release Date August 7.

When life gives you lemons, make awesome K-Pop music videos! At least that's what K-Pop girl group 2NE1 and producer TEDDY thought about the music video for the girls' upcoming summer single, "Do You Love Me".

The group's record label YG Entertainment had originally planned a huge-budget concept for the "Do You Love Me" video. When delay after delay pushed the production back, the label decided to pull the plug and try something a bit more organic. Now the video for "Do You Love Me" will be shot in a much more "home movie" friendly format, using old cameras and smart phones.

"As such, we have decided to create a home video rather than a music video, and 2NE1 will be the one to film with mobile phones and old-fashioned cameras. We believe that this home video style can work as it will show a natural and casual aspect of 2NE1, who has so far showcased several music videos emphasizing their unique fashion styles in gorgeous sets," according to YG Entertainment CEO Yang Hyun Suk.

With "Do You Love Me" scheduled for an August 7th release date, many other labels would opted to push back the launch and spend the time on a high-concept video.

According to the video's director, Seo Hyun Seung, pushing back the release date was never in the books for 2NE1.

"This kind of thing is not uncommon in the business. And in most cases, a common decision is to delay the release date for a couple of weeks. However, 2NE1 is planning to release a new song every month so if we postpone this month's release, there will be evitable delays for the next songs. This would be a major setback for 2NE1's plan," Seung explained.

2NE1 is also celebrating their first-ever "Song of the Month" from their July 8 release, "Falling in Love".
