Save the City Records Labelmates Set to Play New Music at Popular Christian Festival
Seattle singer/songwriter/producer Brandon Bee and seasoned rapper Benjiman will be at JoshuaFest in Quincy, Calif. on September 4, 2009, where the labelmates are each set to perform solo sets on the Air 1 Main Stage alongside Everyday Sunday, Falling Up and Seventh Day Slumber. Benjiman will perform a second set on the Air 1 Main Stage on Saturday, September 5, 2009, sharing the stage with Family Force 5, The Classic Crime, Emery and speaker Aaron Cohen.
Brandon Bee has been traveling around the country on The Revolution Tour this summer, leading up to the October 6 release of his upcoming debut CD, This Is The Revolution. Best known as a producer (Amber Pacific, Jaime Jamgochian, Stacie Orrico), Bee is quickly gaining fans for his own unique brand of pop/rock. He deftly blends old and new—vintage drum sounds are juxtaposed with sumptuous modern guitars; pop melodies and lush vocals are fused with indie rock sensibilities. Benjiman has been burning up the highways this summer in support of his upcoming sophomore CD, S.K.R.I.P.T. (Spreading Kingdom Realities In Perilous Times), which will hit stores on October 6, 2009. Benjiman's unique brand of Rap/Rock/Funk, combined with his down-home lyrics, appeals to kids of all races and economic backgrounds. At festivals, concert halls, churches and prisons—wherever he goes, he finds himself ministering to them. "My ministry is to reach kids who no one else will talk to. After my live appearances, I often end up talking to kids with troubled pasts—they gravitate toward me. I'm able to show them that they are not alone and that the Lord loves them. I have met with kids who were going through serious trouble. Somehow they came to one of my concerts, and then God ministered to them through the lyrics. My music allows me to do performances both within churches and in secular venues as rap is a universal language that opens doors to many audiences." The chart-topping singles from Benjiman's debut album reflect the love that fans have for his music, and they are eagerly anticipating his sophomore release, which is already garnering critical praise.
