Joel Engle, who has dedicated the past 12 years to leading worship and recording albums, will release his second major-label album I Believe In You (Spin 360) on May 1st.
I Believe In You features 13 songs with titles including “I Believe In You,” “If I Don’t Bring You Glory,” “Invincible,” “Almighty God,” “ Oh Great God,” “For Your Glory,” as well as “You Are The Holy One,” “First Love,” “King Of Glory,” “Land Of The Living,” “Nothing Left Of Me,” “Your Love Reigns” and “Capture Me Again.” Production credits go to Stephen Leiweke (Jars Of Clay, Erin O’Donnell, Margaret Becker, Joy Williams).
2007 continues to be a year of high visibility for Engle. LifeWay—the largest provider of Bible study resources in the world—is releasing Joel’s new book, “The Exchange,” as part of their major initiative in reaching the young adult population. Materials include a DVD, workbook, and leader’s guide that are intended for small group and individual study. Engle is also featured on “The Invitation” CD which has sold over 650,000 albums to date.
On the radio front, Engle’s first single “I Believe In You” was released to AC and INSP formats early February, with over 10 reporters on board including American Family Radio, KYCC, KAMB, KFLQ, WDBA, WCRH, Skylight Network, CDR Network, KCWN and KCFB. His last album Made For Worship produced a #1 hit single at inspirational radio with “Shadow Of Your Cross” and a Top 15 at the AC format with “Louder Than The Angels”.
Engle, who headlined over 150 dates last year, has performed at hundreds of youth camp dates, as well as worship and stadium events where he was the featured worship artist opening for acts such as Mercy Me, Third Day, Jars of Clay, and Rebecca St. James. Overall, Engle has played to the tune of millions of people, with over 300,000 of those being in the last three years. With four independent albums to his credit, sales have already exceeded the 600,000 unit mark via retail, direct mail, and concerts.
Another aspect to Engle’s ministry is Spin 360, a modern worship resource that provides worship leaders with songs, chord charts, sheet music, and other tools. To date, over 9,000 churches worldwide have utilized Spin360, reaching an estimated 400,000 youth (www.spin360.com
