The nominees for the SGN Music Awards were chosen by the staff of SoGospelNews.com, and the winners will be chosen by fans of Southern Gospel music and readers of the popular site. Voting started February 1, 2009 and will run through February 15, 2009.
The Freemans were awarded their first SGN Music Award last year. The group won
Country/Bluegrass Song of the Year for the record-breaking #1 hit "He Chose Me."
The family group's latest single has been making a strong impact at Southern Gospel radio. The song has reached the Top 10 on the
Singing News Top 80 (#9),

Christian Voice Magazine Top 100 Southern Gospel Chart (#6), and GospelMusicTimes.com Top 40 Fan Chart (#1).
"Three Rugged Crosses" was written by Rick and Marty Funderburk and is found on their latest album –
Eyes On the Prize. That album has spawned off the record-breaking #1 hit "He Chose Me" as well as the hit single "Cast In the Sea" and ministry driven "I Need a Drink."
The Freemans are currently preparing to record their follow-up to
Eyes On the Prize. The album is slated to release later this year.
