Critically acclaimed rock band Switchfoot released its highly anticipated 5th album
Nothing Is Sound today, as a follow-up to their multi-platinum album
The Beautiful Letdown ("Meant To Live," "Dare You To Move," "This Is Your Life").
As a start-up, Switchfoot will appear as the featured music guest tonight on "Late Night with Conan O’Brien."
Billboard magazine will also feature Switchfoot this week, where frontman Jon Foreman exhorts fellow artists to “Enjoy the records you make on your own dime and enjoy the records that no one hears, the times when you play at your friend's apartment at 3 a.m. Who's to say that that's not going to be the best show you ever play? ... I look back on the early years and I'm just really thankful for all the lessons that I've learned.” He also shares, “We write music for thinking people. This album is a journey, exploring what it means to be human in a world that's upside down.”
The album [Nothing Is Sound] was mostly written and recorded last year in dressing rooms around the country while the band was touring. The process enabled Switchfoot to roadtest the new material immediately after the songs were completed.
Now with the album complete, Switchfoot will officially headline a fall tour in October, to showcase songs from
Nothing Is Sound.
Currently, the first single "Stars" is No. 20 on the Billboard Modern Rock chart and No. 26 at Adult Top 40.
