The highly anticipated new Switchfoot album Nothing is Sound hits stores Sept. 13th, 2005.
Following the release of the album, the band will spread their music internationally by flying overseas to perform in Australia and Japan -- even before embarking on the USA tour -- leaving thousands of fans in these foreign countries overwhelmed with strong anticipation.
This fall, Switchfoot will be touring in two cities in Japan; Tokyo and Osaka.
"I'm so happy Switchfoot come [is coming to] Japan," expressed long-time Switchfoot fan Mizuho Tanaka, 21, of Tokyo, "I was Switchfoot fan since year 2002."
Japan is hopeful in the eyes of Switchfoot fans in Asia. Topics regarding an "Asia Tour" are popping up in Switchfoot forums, where fans from other Asia countries expressed their longing for Switchfoot to visit their country some day. Many see Japan as the bridge to invite Switchfoot to the rest of the countries in Asia.
"It'd be rad if they did an Asia tour, but it seems it may just be Japan for now...but who knows? Japan is a stepping stone…" -Quoted from the Switchfoot forum.
Hopefully, Switchfoot can succeed in delivering a supreme and positive impact on Japan through their songs, which are derived from Christian values. Especially at a time when the suicide rates in Japan are rising due to depression, according to online sources Asia Times and BBC news. Hopeful and faith-based messages are vital to the souls of the spiritually depressed.
"If Switchfoot makes a big enough impact in Tokyo, I'm sure one day they would be able to tour Asia." -Quoted from the Switchfoot forum.
