In the midst of the 21st century, CCM artist Rebecca St. James wishes to examine the evident challenges that Christianity faces in attracting the MTV generation to the churches today. She therefore narrates a one hour documentary: "The Changing Face Of Worship," which is to air on NBC.

In this documentary, St. James introduces "come as you are" Christianity. Self-explanatory as it is, "come as you are" Christianity is simply speaking about the new generation. You don't have to change what you love to do because you go to church. Just "come as you are". Crossing beyond the conservative form of praise and worship, today's generation incorporates rock music, dance, film, poetry, painting, and sculpture into corporate worship.

The documentary is a unique co-operative effort between the Southern Baptist Communication Group, the National Council Of Churches, The Jewish Theological Seminary, and the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops. Throughout December and January, "The Changing Face Of Worship" will air as special programming on NBC stations. Additional airings will be available on FamilyNet affiliates.

Rebecca St. James' involvement in NBC's "The Changing Face Of Worship" is a natural extension of her personal interest in keeping God as the center of her own life. She noted in a recent media interview: "My best definition of 'worship' is our love response to God's love for us. It's that sense of living in the celebration of the fact that I get to have a relationship with the Creator of the world. Just like prayer, worship shouldn't be reserved for one or two days a week. It should be a constant part of our lives."
