This Friday, members of Nashville’s contemporary Christian artist community are coming together in Franklin, Tenn., for a benefit concert entitled “From Our Family to Their Family.”

The show will be held at Ecclesia, located in Building 8 of the Factory in Franklin, and will feature recording artists Jump 5, Rachael Lampa, Everlife, and Joanna Martino.

Sarah Ross of sister rock trio Everlife commented on her group’s involvement in the event.

“The three of us are so excited to be a part of the hurricane benefit concert,” says Ross. “We had played a show in New Orleans a few weeks before the hurricane hit, so we had all of the faces in the crowd flood through our minds; Wondering whether they were OK, if they had gotten out of there in time. We wanted to be able to do something … anything, to help out the ones there that had lost everything. We had been praying about what to do when the opportunity to play this benefit came up and we immediately said ‘Yes!’ It’s going to be a great night filled with amazing music and testimonies and we’re blessed to be a part of it!”

Keith Mohr from Indie Heaven, one of the organizers of the event, was also grateful for a chance to aid the hurricane victims.

"I'm a weather freak, and I knew a week before Katrina hit that the Gulf Coast was in big trouble,” he said. “I immediately started thinking of a way I could help those who would surely be impacted. When I was approached about doing a benefit concert, I was ready to jump in and help in any way I could. What an excellent way to demonstrate the love of Christ through the vehicle of music. My hope is that we can give hope back to those devastated by the hurricane."

The show will run from 6:30 – 9:30 p.m. CDT on Friday, Sept. 23, with doors opening at 6:00 p.m. CDT.

Gift cards for Target and Wal-Mart will be the price of admission. $10 cards for individuals and $30 for families are the suggested minimum to attend the event. All gift cards will be distributed through Graceworks Ministries.
