Now fans have greater reason to visit newsboys.com. Newsboys has just recently partnered with Zondervan to make the New Testament of Today's New International Version of the Bible (TNIV) available for download from the Newsboys website. This new translation will also be available on the interactive "Devotion" CD in January 2005. Translated by the same committee as NIV, this new translation will be published in creative and innovative formats directed towards people 18 to 34 years-old. The full version of the TNIV will be available on February 4, 2005.

A national Harris Interactive poll was recently conducted showed that 18 to 34 year-olds viewed the TNIV as helpful: 77 percent found the TNIV easier to understand than the NIV, and 72 percent found the text more readable. However, although 60 percent feel the Bible is relevant to their lives, more than half have never read or have read it less than once a year. Zondervan hopes that in February 2005, with the release of nine interactive TNIV full-text Bibles, it will reach to this generation of younger believers.

For the past decade, the Committee on Bible Translation has been working on the TNIV. CBT felt the need to publish this new translation that accurately translates the bible in today?fs language.

"The TNIV will be the biggest Bible translation launch in history, based on the breadth of products offered and the promotion that we intend to do," said Paul Caminiti, publisher and vice president of Bibles at Zondervan. "We know there is a need for this translation and we're thrilled to begin reaching today's generation with God's word in compelling, innovative formats, all supported by a translation that is uncompromisingly accurate and absolutely faithful to the original biblical texts."
