Acclaimed Dove Award-winning and Grammy-nominated group NewSong will appear on CBS holiday movie “The Christmas Blessing” on December 18th, where the band performs the title song in an important climatic scene.
Scheduled for broadcast on Sunday, Dec. 18 (9:00-11:00 PM, ET/PT), the CBS holiday movie is based on New York Times best-selling author Donna VanLiere’s book The Christmas Blessing, a sequel to The Christmas Shoes, a highly-rated 2002 movie, which attracted nearly 17 million viewers.
In the new movie, the young boy from the original film has grown up and meets a young woman and a boy who both, with the help of a Christmas miracle, change his life.The movie stars Neil Patrick Harris ("How I Met Your Mother") and Rebecca Gayheart ("Urban Legend") with a special appearance by Rob Lowe (“West Wing”) who starred in the first movie.
Before “The Christmas Blessing” movie television airing, NewSong is headlining the 16-city “The Christmas Blessing Tour” which features Sony/Integrity labelmate Anointed, new Reunion Records’ artist Ana Laura and Waymaker Christian Music artist Ricardo. The Christmas Blessing Tour has sold out four of the eight dates already played.
At the conclusion of “The Christmas Blessing Tour”, NewSong will only have time for a quick holiday break before being back on the road December 26 for the start of back-to-back multi-artist events, the Xtreme Conferences (www.xtremeconferences.com) and the 30-city Winter Jam 2006 Tour (www.jamtour.com).
