Contemporary Christian band MercyMe is drawing near the end of its "Rock and Worship Roadshow," which has been averaging crowds of 10,000 per stop.

"The response to the The Rock and Worship Roadshow has been incredible," reported Cliff Reiser, concert promoter at Rush Concerts last week. "Over 120,000 people have come to shows in 13 cities so far, including 18,000 in Dallas on April 3. This a great testament to MercyMe's continued ability to impact our culture in a positive way."

Sponsored by Compassion International in partnership with Imagine A Cure, "The Rock and Worship Roadshow" has been hitting major markets across the United States to raise money for helping kids with juvenile diabetes via Imagine A Cure and those with medical needs around the world through Compassion International.

And with the cost of tickets priced only at $10, concert-goers are touting the show as a not-to-miss opportunity.

"This show had it all," exclaimed Peter Sauer in Seattle. "It started off with Addison Road and followed with Tenth Avenue North, Hawk Nelson, Jeremy Camp, and last but not least MercyMe! All of these bands for just $10 at the door."

And that's exactly the kind of the response show organizers were aiming for when they decided to minimize the cost to prospective concert-goers.

"We are all living in a new world today, and an economy that is affecting everyone around us," commented MercyMe frontman Bart Millard. "We all wanted to be able to bring some family-friendly and Christ-centered entertainment that will uplift people and not break the bank."

Since March 17, the show has stopped by Portland, Dallas, Denver, and Baton Rouge, among other cities. It has four more cities lined up before it concludes this Sunday.
